The 13th European Venous Forum Hands-On Workshop, EVF HOW 2026, will be held from October 1 to 3, 2026, at the Holiday Inn Krakow City Center in Krakow, Poland.
Designed around practical education, the three-day course combines focused scientific sessions, clinical case discussions and repeated hands-on workshops. The programme covers a broad range of topics in contemporary venous practice, including chronic venous disease, superficial venous incompetence, acute deep vein thrombosis, chronic venous obstruction, venous ulcer management and lymphedema.
A defining feature of EVF HOW is its workstation-based training format. Participants will have opportunities to develop practical familiarity with venous ultrasound, radiofrequency and laser ablation, foam and liquid sclerotherapy, mechanochemical ablation, cyanoacrylate closure, compression therapy, intravascular ultrasound, venous stenting and thrombectomy. Dedicated stations will also address pelvic vein interventions, venous plethysmography, valve reconstruction and ultrasound assessment of superficial, deep, abdominal and pelvic veins.
The scientific programme begins with the fundamentals of chronic venous disease, including pathophysiology, symptom assessment, CEAP classification and diagnostic testing. Subsequent sessions will examine non-invasive treatment, interventional management of varicose veins, prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disease, post-thrombotic syndrome, chronic venous obstruction and the diagnosis and management of lymphedema.
Faculty members from several European countries will contribute lectures, case-based teaching and practical demonstrations. The programme is structured to connect clinical evidence with procedural decision-making, enabling participants to compare treatment options and discuss the management of both routine and complex venous cases.
The official language of the meeting will be English. A certificate of attendance will be available to participants, and an application has been submitted to the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education for European CME accreditation. On-site registration will not be available, making advance booking essential.
With its combination of structured teaching and practical skills development, EVF HOW 2026 offers a concentrated educational programme for clinicians seeking to strengthen their diagnostic and interventional expertise in venous disease.
